4K JAVELIN ™ Optoelectronic Plenum HDMI Cable

This is a delicate hybrid cable with multiple fiber and copper conductors within a Plenum rated Teflon® jacket. The connectors house the electronics to convert the high definition video to light pulses and back. The most important thing to remember is to NOT PULL ON THE CONNECTORS.
Since this is a Plenum cable, there should be little need to pull it through conduits, but if you are going to pull the cable, please follow these instructions.
The Maximum Connector Pull Strength is 10 Kg (22 lbs). So if you are fishing the cable through tight spaces, you have to ensure to not have any force on the connector.

To pull cable through conduits or tight spaces, never grab the connector, as it is easy to exceed the force limit on the connector, instead, protect the connector and make sure the force is applied directly to the cable jacket. A cable pulling mesh grip or sock of 1" diameter is recommended if you are going to pull the cable. You can order one here. You will also need a roll of electrical tape
Insert the HDMI connector in the mesh (in a way so there will be no force on the connector when you pull). Use electrical tape to firmly connect the end of the mesh to the cable jacket. Here is a short video to give you an idea of the process.

This plug-n-play cable requires no external power supply. Power is drawn from the 5v signal pin of the source HDMI output. The cable draws less than 0.25w of power from the source. Per HDMI specifications all HDMI compliant sources must at least provide 0.25 watts of power. If a particular source is not able to provide the required power, Hall Research offers 5v power inserter that can be placed between the source and the cable. The power inserter will substitute its own regulated 5v in place of the 5v that comes from the source.
